In June 2010, a Florida jury awarded a couple who own a single family home that had had Chinese Drywall problem the sum of $2,5 million.
The first case of Chinese Drywall problem was discovered in Florida about 3 years ago.
Not many Californians are aware of this problem though Chinese Drywall was reported to have been used in many construction projects since 2001 in California, Las Vegas, Arizona, and the Pacific Northwest.
According to the Homeowners Consumer Center, if you live a home that was constructed between 2001 and 2008 and you smell odor of sulfur or rotten eggs and have numerous corroded air conditioners coils, you may have Chinese Drywall problem in your home. It may render your home unsafe to live in.
